Assalamu'alaikum, see you again, friend.
This time I will discuss an
article about thanksgiving, which I quoted from one of the books. I think the
book is good, the contents are interesting and when viewed from each page it
doesn't make you bored 😊
Okay, just bro, friend!
What is Thanksgiving?
How many forms of thanksgiving?
What are the benefits of
Gratitude?
Come see 💓
1. First. What is Thanksgiving?
Gratitude comes from the words
syakara, syukuran, wa syukuran, and ash-syukru, which means praise for goodness
(favor) and thank you (to Allah). Gratitude also means revealing His blessings,
both through speech and action.
In Sufism, thanksgiving is
speech, attitude, and action as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT. and sincere
confession of the blessings and gifts given by Him.
Gratitude given by Allah SWT.
to humans there are many, and various kinds of forms, which are never separated
from all everyday life and human activities, ranging from the pleasures of
life, to the enjoyment of material, to health favors, and others.
But sometimes we as humans are not aware
of that, so we must multiply our gratitude to God, so that the blessings given
by God will increase.
2. Second. How many forms of
gratitude are there?
In essence, everything God
gives us must be grateful as an expression of gratitude. It is not because of a
necessity of a servant of Allah alone, but more because the awareness of His
pleasure. Why is that? Because gratitude will come back to us. That is, the
benefit of being grateful is felt by someone who is grateful, as Allah says:
"And whosoever is grateful, then indeed he is grateful for (good) himself,
and whosoever is kufr (un grateful), then my Lord is Rich and Mighty
Noble." (QS. An-Naml: 40)
For this reason, we are absolutely
grateful for our own good. Because in gratitude, all of our body and soul are
involved in it. The forms of gratitude are as follows:
a. Thank God
With the heart, humans realize
and feel. With this heart humans carry out gratitude. Gratitude through this
heart is realized by truly realizing that all the blessings that come from God
alone. In turn, this kind of awareness leads people to accept, full of
willingness without protest, let alone grumbling, at that favor. Gratitude with
the heart always makes one instill good prejudice (husnudzan) in God in him.
b. Thank God with the Oral
We know, the expression or
expression of what is felt by the heart, is done by speaking. This becomes
absolute in gratitude. When the heart already knows the taste of pleasure from
Him, the lali of pleasure is expressed through the saying of the throne. The
word Alhamdulillah means recognition and praise to Allah.
c. Thank God for the Acts
Gratitude through the
acknowledgment and belief in the blessings of Allah and then verbally, becomes
complete when manifested by deeds. That is, God's pleasure is received and
revealed to Him by doing something good. For example, by acting, helping
others, not doing something deviant, not excessive in spending assets, and
other good things.
3. Third. What are the benefits
of Gratitude?
As mentioned earlier, the
gratitude we offer to God is only for our own benefit. Anyone who is grateful,
will always feel His pleasure, of course, if gratitude is done with awareness
and servitude of God.
Awareness and servitude here is the
attitude of always seeing something as a favor in our view a little. This
awareness and servitude also means carrying out God's commands and avoiding His
prohibitions. In short, obey God.
If you want to achieve true
happiness, then you must obey God. And therefore, being grateful and never
denying the blessings of Him becomes the foundation in living life.
Well, that's about gratitude in a
nutshell, friend.
I recommend that you also read
the book 😉👇
